Rolex Datejust ref 16014 Linen Dial
$6,500.00
The Reference 16014 is the watch that quietly walked the Datejust into the modern era. Introduced in 1977, it was the first Datejust to carry the Caliber 3035 — the first time the reference had a movement with both quickset date and hacking seconds, two features that today feel essential but in 1977 were genuinely new. It also marked the switch from acrylic to sapphire crystal, ending decades of buffing-out-scratches as part of ownership.
What didn't change is the silhouette. 36mm of stainless steel with an 18K white gold fluted bezel, the dial proportions that have defined the line since 1945. The 16014 is the Datejust that bridges generations — undeniably vintage in feel, undeniably wearable today, and a piece that handles the dress / daily-driver swap as well as any watch Rolex has ever made.
Beneath the surface beats the Rolex Caliber 3035, the first of the Datejust's quickset family and the foundation of every Datejust movement that followed. Twenty-seven jewels, 28,800 A/h, hacking seconds, instant date change at midnight.
